Position: Mid-Senior Level Bankruptcy & Restructuring Associate ($235,000 - $420,000)

About the Firm
Our client is a New York-based law firm with a distinguished reputation in financial services and restructuring. Their Restructuring & Insolvency Practice is widely recognized for handling complex, high-profile matters involving secured and unsecured creditors, investors, trustees, and fiduciaries in distressed and bankruptcy-related scenarios.

You'll be joining a collaborative and tight-knit team in New York.

What You'll Do
As part of the Restructuring & Bankruptcy group you will:

• Represent major stakeholders in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 cases, cross-border insolvencies, and out-of-court restructurings.
• Draft and negotiate complex plan documents, disclosure statements, motions, and related filings.
• Assist with the structuring and execution of distressed asset sales, 363 sales, DIP financings, and bankruptcy-related M&A.
• Work on contested matters, including adversary proceedings, fiduciary litigation, and bankruptcy appeals.
• Advise on governance, fiduciary obligations, and restructuring strategy, both in court and behind the scenes.
• Provide strategic counsel to hedge funds, bondholders, and institutional investors in distressed debt opportunities.

What We're Looking For

• J.D. from an accredited law school and admission (or pending admission) to the New York Bar.
• 2-6 years of experience in a law firm bankruptcy and restructuring group.
• Exposure to both litigation and transactional aspects of Chapter 11.
• Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• A proactive, collaborative attitude with a desire to grow as a well-rounded restructuring attorney.
