Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid role for a Finance Manager at Magnetic Me – a growing apparel brand – in New York, NY. The Financial Manager will be responsible for preparing financial statements and reports, managing finance operations, and overseeing an outside firm on the management of accounting, bookkeeping, and tax. 

What will you be doing:

• Overseeing all accounting and financial operations ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures
• Managing accounting operations and assist with financial reporting
• Directing the daily activities for GL, AP, AR, revenue, commissions, and payroll as necessary
• Managing the monthly close process and prepare financial statements 
• Acting as strategic thought partner to CEO for new initiatives and process improvements
• Liaising with external CPA as needed for tax and compliance requirements
• Bookkeeping through Quickbooks and Bill.com
• Managing payroll and benefits for the organization
• Supporting internal operational programs
• Supporting annual budgeting and planning process
• Working alongside other departments on various projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or related
• 6+ years of experience in accounting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
• Fluency in ERP and accounting systems / software
• Familiarity with benefits and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP) 
• Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls
• Ability to work independently; Self-starter and proactive; follows-through and executes on projects 
• Organized and high attention to detail
• Exceptional time-management skills
• Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in the organization

Desired Skills: 

• CPA
• Experience in Retail & Consumer Products industry
• Experience with A2000 (ERP system)
• Proficiency with Quickbooks and Bill.com
