Job Title: Project Engineer - Pipeline Regulatory Compliance

Job Summary: The Project Engineer will play a key role in managing and executing regulatory compliance projects within pipeline operations and maintenance. This individual will also provide regulatory consulting services and be responsible for the development, maintenance, and revision of critical regulatory plans and programs in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The Project Engineer will collaborate with clients on pipeline engineering projects, addressing their regulatory compliance needs, and participate in regulatory compliance audits as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute pipeline regulatory compliance projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Provide regulatory consulting expertise to clients on pipeline operations and maintenance related activities and engineering projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and revise regulatory compliance plans and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), PHMSA, and other federal, state, and local governmental agencies.
  • Consult with clients to understand their regulatory compliance challenges and provide effective solutions.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance audits, including preparation, execution, and report generation, as part of a team.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal team members, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate progress effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Potentially assist with proposal development and business development activities.

Skills Required:

  • Team-oriented and self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical and regulatory information clearly.
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulations effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Petroleum, or a related field).
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is a plus.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in the pipeline industry or regulatory compliance. We are open to considering motivated entry-level candidates with a strong aptitude for learning.

Travel: Limited travel will be required.
